A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Haralson County Historical Society for its
participation in substantial community improvements; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the Haralson County Historical Society endeavors to preserve the rich history of this west Georgia county; and
WHEREAS, with the assistance of the society the basic components have been completed in the comprehensive restoration of the Haralson County Historic Courthouse; and
WHEREAS, the society has been a key player in assisting the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library in its opening and achievement of PINES branch status; and
WHEREAS, the society has continued to serve the county through assisting with and sponsoring events such as fall and spring festivals; and
WHEREAS, the society is helping to compile a cemetery census which will soon be published; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize the efforts of this civic organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body hereby recognizes and expresses its appreciation to the Haralson County Historical Society for all of its contributions towards community improvements that benefit all of the citizens of Haralson County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Haralson County Historical Society.
