Senate Resolution
1181 By: Senators Collins of the 6th, Lamutt of the
21st, Clay of the 37th and Price of the 56th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing Mrs. Sue Everhart; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Mrs. Sue Everhart has enjoyed a
full life through her family, career, and selfless community involvement;
and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Everhart has diligently worked
for better government in this state by helping to elect superior candidates to
serve the people of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, as a
former banker, she was listed in Who´s Who in the Banking Industry, was
twice named Manager of the Year, and served as vice president of her
institution; and
WHEREAS, she has been active in
her community all of her adult life; served as president of a homeowners
association; and served on the PTA board for 12 years, receiving two lifetime
memberships for her tremendous work with the association;
and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Everhart is a past president of
the Newcomers Club of Cobb County, chairperson of the Cultural Arts Board of
Cobb County, and chairperson of the Cobb Board of Elections;
and
WHEREAS, she is an active member of John
Knox´s Presbyterian Church, is a former Sunday school teacher at the
church, and served on its kindergarten board;
and
WHEREAS, she has served as president of the
Cobb Republican Women´s Club and is a member of the Cobb County Republican
Party; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Everhart was named the
Republican Party´s "Volunteer of the Year" in 2000, was twice named its
"Woman of the Year," and named the delegate to the 2000 National Convention that
most represented grass-roots in America and was honored with a documentary on
her political work in Marietta and Georgia. NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this
body recognize Mrs. Sue Everhart for her compelling and
uncommon political and community activism and her dedicated efforts on behalf of
better government.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Mrs. Sue Everhart.
