A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating W. Don and Ida Mae Sports on
50 years of marriage; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, W. Don and Ida Mae Sports first met in 1947 at the Martin Theatre in the City of Douglas; and
WHEREAS, their love grew and they were united in marriage on October 26, 1952, by Pastor Frank Roberson, at the First United Methodist Church of Claxton, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, throughout 50 years of triumphs, disappointments, and quiet routine, their love and devotion for each other has remained; and
WHEREAS, together they have raised two children, Sandra Toler and Don, Jr., and are the loving grandparents of grandson Clint; and
WHEREAS, their respect and support for each other and for their family have been an inspiration to their neighbors; and
WHEREAS, they are both very active in their church and their long marriage has been nurtured and sustained by their great faith.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend and congratulate W. Don and Ida Mae Sports on their wonderful and inspirational achievement of 50 years of marriage and extend sincere wishes for many more happy years together.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to W. Don and Ida Mae Sports.
