                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Debora Tomberlin Seymour; and for 
  1- 2  other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Debora Tomberlin Seymour was named Columbia County 
  1- 4  Teacher of the Year for 1999, and she had been selected as 
  1- 5  the Greenbrier High School Teacher of the Year for 1998 and 
  1- 6  as the school's Star Teacher for 1997; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, she has been a family and consumer science teacher 
  1- 8  at Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia, for the past 
  1- 9  three school terms; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, in prior years, she taught at Harlem High School in 
  1-11  Columbia County for five years, Wrens High School in 
  1-12  Jefferson County for one year, and at Ware County Junior 
  1-13  High School for one year; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, she graduated from the University of Georgia in 
  1-15  1979 in home economics education, is married to Mark 
  1-16  Seymour, with whom she has two fine children, and is active 
  1-17  in the local affairs of Appling, Georgia; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, throughout her teaching career she has demonstrated 
  1-19  her dedication, diligence, and motivation, and she has 
  1-20  influenced the lives of countless students through her 
  1-21  genuine interest in their development and well-being. 
 
  1-22  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the 
  1-23  members of this body recognize and commend Debora Tomberlin 
  1-24  Seymour on being selected as the Columbia County Teacher of 
  1-25  the Year for 1999 and convey to her their appreciation and 
  1-26  respect. 
 
  1-27  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-28  authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of 
  1-29  this resolution to Debora Tomberlin Seymour.
