                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Dr. Allene Magill; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Dr. Allene Magill is widely recognized throughout 
  1- 3  the state as the personification of excellence in education; 
  1- 4  and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, this highly respected professional educator serves 
  1- 6  with honor and distinction as a superintendent of the 
  1- 7  Forsyth County school system; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, she believes that her continuing role as an 
  1- 9  administrator is to act as an instrument of inspiration and 
  1-10  enthusiasm to her pupils and to create a positive learning 
  1-11  environment through the encouragement of competitive 
  1-12  instincts in her students; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, her peers have twice recognized her superb 
  1-14  abilities by naming her State School Superintendent of the 
  1-15  Year in 1995 and 2000; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, during her tenure as superintendent, she has 
  1-17  overseen the dramatic growth of the Forsyth County school 
  1-18  system and has maintained a steadfast commitment to 
  1-19  excellence in both the students and the teachers in Forsyth 
  1-20  County; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, she is a shining example of the important impact 
  1-22  that education professionals are making on the quality of 
  1-23  education received by the children of this state and it is 
  1-24  abundantly fitting and proper that her superlative 
  1-25  accomplishments be recognized appropriately. 
 
  1-26  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-27  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily and 
  1-28  gratefully commend Dr. Allene Magill for her many years of 
  1-29  sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on 
  1-30  behalf of education in Georgia and for the positive 
  1-31  influence she has had upon the lives and futures of 
  1-32  countless young people in this state. 
 
  1-33  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-34  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-35  appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Allene Magill.
