                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Coach Rick Tomberlin of 
  1- 2  Washington County High School and inviting him to appear 
  1- 3  before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Coach Rick Tomberlin of Washington County High 
  1- 5  School has led that school's Golden Hawks football team to 
  1- 6  an unparalleled record of achievement, including Class AA 
  1- 7  state championships in 1994, 1996, and 1997; a combined 
  1- 8  record of 30 successive wins and no losses for 1996 and 
  1- 9  1997; and region championships in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 
  1-10  and 1997; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, his home field record at Washington County High 
  1-12  School's much feared "House of Pain" is 43 wins and only one 
  1-13  loss, his overall record for Washington County is 78 wins 
  1-14  and only seven losses, and his career record is 127 wins and 
  1-15  49 losses; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, under his leadership, in six years, 45 Golden Hawks 
  1-17  players have received college scholarships; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, he was selected as president of the Georgia 
  1-19  Athletic Directors Association and also selected to 
  1-20  represent Georgia in the National High School Football Coach 
  1-21  of the Year competition; and 
 
  1-22  WHEREAS, for 1997, he has been honored as coach of the year 
  1-23  by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Macon Telegraph, Dublin 
  1-24  Courier Herald, Atlanta Touchdown Club, Georgia Sports Hall 
  1-25  of Fame, and Macon Touchdown Club; and 
 
  1-26  WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that he be recognized 
  1-27  and honored by this body for his outstanding record of 
  1-28  achievement. 
 
  1-29  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-30  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-31  commend Coach Rick Tomberlin of the Washington County High 
  1-32  School Golden Hawks football team for his unparalleled 
  1-33  achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for 
  1-34  continued success in the future.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Coach Rick Tomberlin is invited 
  2- 2  to appear before the House of Representatives on a date and 
  2- 3  at a time to be designated by the Speaker of the House of 
  2- 4  Representatives. 
 
  2- 5  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 6  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
