A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend an Act establishing the State Court of Bryan County
1- 2 (formerly the City Court of Pembroke), approved January 10,
1- 3 1938 (Ga. L. 1938, Ex. Sess., p. 714), as amended,
1- 4 particularly by an Act approved February 20, 1953 (Ga. L.
1- 5 1953, p. 2511), so as to change the terms of court; to
1- 6 repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
1- 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
1- 8 An Act establishing the State Court of Bryan County
1- 9 (formerly the City Court of Pembroke), approved January 10,
1-10 1938 (Ga. L. 1938, Ex. Sess., p. 714), as amended,
1-11 particularly by an Act approved February 20, 1953 (Ga. L.
1-12 1953, p. 2511), is amended by striking from Section 11 the
1-13 words 'city court' and 'on the third (3rd) Monday of each
1-14 month' and inserting in lieu thereof, respectively, the
1-15 words 'court' and the words 'on the second Monday of each
1-16 month,' so that said section when amended shall read as
1-17 follows:
"SECTION 11.
1-18 The terms of said court shall be monthly for the trial and
1-19 disposition of as criminal and civil business of whatever
1-20 kind or nature of which said court has jurisdiction under
1-21 the laws and Constitution of the State of Georgia. The
1-22 time of holding said court shall be on the second Monday
1-23 of each month; at the January, April, July, and October
1-24 terms a jury shall be summoned, and a jury may be summoned
1-25 at such other times as in the discretion of the judge it
1-26 may become necessary for the trial of cases pending in
1-27 said court."
SECTION 2.
1-28 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
1-29 repealed.
